Do you like free patterns? I love free patterns. I am always hunting down free patterns that I can actually use. Today, I have a free pattern for you.
Mini Dresdens: I am looking for anything and everything to be able to put on the fabric postcards I make. This little one to the right is 3 inches across: perfect for a 4×6 inch fabric postcard.
For this one, I used up the scraps I had left from my jigsaw puzzle mug rug.
I found the pattern over at the Westwood Acres Fabrics blog. It is free, but to get it, you do have to sign up for their newsletter. This pattern is perfect for scraps, and tiny scraps at that (1 inch by 1 1/2 inch).
However, if you don’t want to sign up for a newsletter to get the pattern, there is also a tutorial over at Patchwork Posse on how to make your own Dresden Template. I haven’t made it myself, but I did check the measurements against my dresden ruler. The 3 1/2″ top she talks about in the blog matches up with the widest point on my 8 inch dresden ruler. I am guessing hers will just end up skinnier going towards the point.
